2. Instead of posting randomly on all kinds of forums, choose your niche forums to do your posting. Take up any one active forum at a time and start building your profile. Make about 4-5 posts a week. You could use the PM ((Private Message) feature to communicate with other members.

3. Write down a list of top 5 blogs in your niche. Read those posts regularly and make sure to leave a comment on each of those blogs.

5. Focus only on sites that could help in developing your business. If you do not focus you would be wasting a lot of time and effort on those social media sites where there is a lot of hype.

6. Be prepared to spend time and effort on social media. Results do not come overnight.

7. Educate yourself on tools that you could use on these sites

8. Make sure you do not put up a profile that is identical to another user on the site.

9. Choose a good and distinctive name

10. If you are choosing an avatar choose a good one.

11. Using the same username on all sites would help you build profile recognition.

12. Make sure to leave comments on others blogs
